Bernard & Nile experienced previous LaBelle and Ecstacy, Passion & Pain drummer Tony Thompson join the band. & it performed as a trio doing covers at various gigs for for a while. However it required a singer to front the band.

Perfect when a sessions ended for their debut album Stylishness began to act in Norma Jean's selftitled debut solo album freed inside 1978. This album contained club hit "Saturday." To help the separate however parallel (to Chic's) solo career for their lead singer Stylishness experienced agreed to sign her to a separate contract & label from either the band. Regrettably a legalities of this contract inside time forced Norma Jean to leave a band in mid (1978).
